The Wild Edge of Sorrow: Grief Series
Join me Tuesday nights from 6:30-8:30 PM starting March 14th for a 6-week series on healthy grieving. Whether you are grieving the death of a loved one or pet, the end of a partnership, the loss of health, home, or employment, the loss of innocence, community, or family, or are feeling sorrow for our struggling world, this series acknowledges that grief and loss touches us all. Grief is our “…shared sorrow, the communal cup from which we all drink.”
When grief goes largely unacknowledged, as it often does in our culture, and is sent to the shadows of our lives, it arises again as depression, anxiety, addiction, loneliness, and numbing actions. Bringing grief out of the shadows helps us regain our vitality and remember who we are.
The series is based on the book “The Wild Edge of Sorrow” by Francis Weller and the book is included in the cost of the workshop. Each week will be part book club where we discuss a portion of the book as well as participation in grief rituals, gentle yoga, mindfulness, breathwork, and meditation practices. The goal is to create a sense of community and connection and to fully honor our losses, thereby enabling us to embody joy.
“To honor our grief, to grant it space and time in our frantic world is to fulfill a covenant with the soul-to welcome all that is, thereby granting room for our most authentic life.”
Held at The Local Co-Op 1991 1100 East, Salt Lake City (between ETC and the Design Firm). If you live out of town and wish to join via Zoom, please let me know.
